Another early document produced in November 1973 by the Kansas Department of Economic Development, Planning Division, provided those seeking to create a regional planning commission with the details needed to do so in Kansas. Written by the Center for Regional and Community Planning at Kansas State University, it also described the creation efforts underway across the state and the successes that had already been achieved in different locations. While much of the document is today very much outdated, it still is useful in its contribution to everyone’s understanding of how regional planning commissions came into being. That document, in its entirety, can be accessed through the following links.
