Information Resources Unique to Kansas

Oct 15, 2014 ~ Leave a Comment ~ Written by John

The Institute for Policy and Social Research (IPSR) at KU has produced a data portal that can be used by regional organizations across Kansas in their evaluation of changes that may have an impact on local and regional planning.   Other states (e.g., Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska) have taken an interest in this information source and have asked IPSR to consider producing a similar tool for their state.

Another source of information is Innovate Kansas, a website produced by the Advanced Manufacturing Institute (AMI) at KSU.  This website provides access to regional conditions across Kansas with the regions outlined matching those of the Economic Districts.  The site also provides a wealth of additional information helpful to the private sector in that it describes ways business entities can be matched up to other markets.

Both AMI and IPSR are University Centers as designated by the Economic Development Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce.
