There are three basic levels of membership with the first being more celebratory than a distinct separate category.
- Founding Members: This category includes the Economic Development Districts and University Centers operating in Kansas as recognized by the Economic Development Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce in 2008 when KARDO was first established.
- Participating Members: Organizations or individuals that seek full membership in the organization along with all the privileges (e.g. voting rights, access to training and support) that confers. Annual dues for this category are set at $1,000.
- Associate Members: Organizations or individuals that seek only to participate in board discussions; to learn about work opportunities; and to participate in educational workshops and conferences hosted by KARDO. Associate Members do not have voting rights when final decisions are made by the board. Annual dues for this category are set at $250.
