Regional Organization History

Here is a collection of articles and reference materials that describe the initiation of regional efforts in Kansas.  While such efforts existed prior to this point (i.e., counties and townships in that they are “administrative” regions), little or no attempt had been made at the state level to encourage and/or officially recognize joint multi-county approaches to problem solving.   What you see here is how the state first began to address such matters along with additional materials that should help explain “regions” and “regionalism” in basic terms.
